Darkness
by Dan A. Cardoza
Frees shadows from sight
asks monsters to play, under your bed
floats a moon in the pond
gives your sunflower some rest
temps burglars to burgle
keeps lights from the dead
invites owls to dine
comforts the blind
tells tides which way to go
makes all those stars shine
tucks birds in at night
calls bats from your shed
turns a wick to flame
charms my lover to bed.
