In Praise of Love
by Ann Huang
You dig into the country dirt
when the garnets flow
and the lovers attract
the wandering of pigeons and dogs.
You lounge by the shrines of masons
and their spoons hallowed by insomnia
from the ocean of white sails
and the worn-out sky and the tongue of cats.
She follows you to a meeting room
luring the sunset, which pulses with love and laughters
and the strong shadow of dusk
and the sea dwellers.
