The Blue Balloon

She held the red balloon loosely in her fingertips.
She looked across the way at a boy holding a blue one,
As she looked more intently he had a grasp on his
And she slowly began to let go.
She was never good at keeping hold of her balloons.

“How does he do it?”

This question floated in her mind,
Just as her red balloon started to float away.
